I have been asked by a few people about the latest renovations to my cottage in the country and in fact, my study and ensuite have been completed since I last posted here. Today I will show you before and after photos of my study. It is a breath of fresh air after the heaviness of the red ceiling, red and green walls, and blue and green tartan carpet.
My husband and I did everything in here except the laying of the sisal carpet. We created the board and batten walls to cover all the wallpaper and made a cupboard with a barn door, which I love. The ceiling took four coats of paint to banish the red. It is a light-filled room that I am happy to work in.
Next week I will show you the finished ensuite.

That transformation is so drastic, and miles different. Now it looks so elegant and chic and open, thanks to the white walls and such. Great job!
Very nice and bright and modern looking! I love all the light and your plants will be happy. Your second career could be interior decorating!
Thank you, Joyce. I have in fact done a lot of interior design work in the past as one of my many careers. It gives me great pleasure to make a home look beautiful.
